Jeff and I had grand ideas to hike up and into Kings Canyon National Park, a gorgeous part of Australia we hadn't heard about until we got to Uluru.
We learned the hard way that summer hikes were best completed by 10:00 AM or started after 4:00 PM, so we cancelled the idea until we could get our act together. We checked out of Curtin Springs and into the campground at Kings Canyon National Park. The photo above shows our car and our tent. We decided to take a vacation from our vacation and swam in the pool and washed our clothes at the nearby laundromat. Nothing too exciting about this day.
Until we get to Kings Canyon, a day I will always remember, I have a treat for you. Check out the video on this site. I don't know where it was filmed, but the swimming scene looks as if it could be Kings Canyon. The video was directed by Baz Luhrmann, the same guy who directed the movie Australia with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. The young Aborigine is also from the movie. Enjoy.
